Fracking misunderstood -
Fracking has a serious reputation problem. Controversy over the process of fracking has lead people to believe that fracking is bad. However, in reality, the leaders in the fracking industry are on the forefront of what might be a huge step forward in energy development and job creation.
One concern is the legislative loophole that makes fracking exempt from the America’s Safe Drinking Water Act. What isn’t addressed is that federal legislation never regulated fracking because it has always been the responsibility of the individual states. Fracking can be better regulated by the state for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that each state has its own environment. For example, fracking processes are different in Texas compared to the fracking processes in Pennsylvania.
People have a right to question and fight for best fracking practices in each state, and which should best practice regulations could be regulated by the federal government to make sure that every person has a right to safe drinking water. Therefore, new federal legislation will make sure that the fracking process is done safely and responsibly nation-wide.
Domestic energy is good for the environment. To be able to domestically produce a gas alternative reduces the the United State’s carbon footprint.
Fracking is the process of extracting natural gas. Natural gas reduces the over all carbon emissions that enter our atmosphere.
Fracking may not be a long term solution, but fracking can be a great solution for now to boost our economy by creating jobs and to get us one step closer to a cleaner environment.
